Overview

Super-Shiritori is a custom Discord bot designed to run a smart and fun word game. It challenges players to continue a word chain where each new word starts with the last letter of the previous one. The bot includes special rules, unique gameplay modes, and comprehensive word tracking to keep things interesting.

Even though it’s actively maintained and improved, Super-Shiritori has always had its fair share of quirks, bugs, and glorious mishaps — just part of its charm.

/startshiritori [#channel]	Admin/Mod only (requires "Manage Messages" or Bot Owner). Starts a new multiplayer game in the chosen channel.
/endshiritori	Ends the current game and shows final stats.
/invite_ai	Adds an AI opponent with a random personality.
/leaderboard [category] [visibility]	Server leaderboard by category (e.g. Longest Word, Hyphens, etc.).
/mystats [visibility]	Shows your multiplayer stats.
/restoregames	Restores saved games after a shutdown.

Super-Shiritori began over three years ago using a small curated list from the OMG Community. It later expanded with a bulk import of 320,000 words and ongoing contributions from users. The dictionary now includes:

• Over 1,000,000 entries
• Acronyms
• User-submitted words
• Foreign languages
• Constructed languages (conlangs)
• Dictionary scraping (Merriam-Webster, Oxford)

There is no anti-cheat system. Players are free to use external tools like Google or dictionaries, though playing blind is encouraged for maximum fun and learning.

• Multiplayer Shiritori: Classic word-chain game with others or AI.
• Solo Shiritori: Play privately against adaptive AI.
• Word Bomb: Elimination speed game — submit valid words before the bomb explodes.
• Wordle: Guess the secret word in 6 or 8 tries. Adjustable length and hyphen rules.
• Dictionary Hunts: Complete a 15-word challenge using unused dictionary words.
