''' | '''Fool's Mode''' is a special, occasional state in [[Super-Shiritori]] in which the bot's word validation is deliberately loosened for comedic effect, traditionally run around April Fools' Day. It is not an automatically scheduled event: it is switched on and off by the bot's operator directly, through a console-only toggle rather than any player-facing command, so its actual active window in a given year is whatever the operator sets it to rather than something enforced by the bot's own code.

This schedule is not a confirmed, permanent policy. It reflects a claim from the bot's owner, [[Ghost]], that the Hawaii-anchored timing is expected to hold for roughly the next three years — into approximately 2030 — but the owner has not treated this as a firm commitment, and it should be read as a stated expectation rather than a guarantee.

Fool's Mode
Fool's Mode is a special, occasional state in Super-Shiritori in which the bot's word validation is deliberately loosened for comedic effect, traditionally run around April Fools' Day. It is not an automatically scheduled event: it is switched on and off by the bot's operator directly, through a console-only toggle rather than any player-facing command, so its actual active window in a given year is whatever the operator sets it to rather than something enforced by the bot's own code.

Current Schedule
Following the operator's relocation to Hawaii, the anchor for the schedule has shifted: the next occurrence of Fool's Mode is expected to run from 10:00 AM April 1st to 9:30 PM April 2nd, Hawaii Time, rather than the Korea-based window the mode first launched under. Every other zone below is converted from this new Hawaii-anchored window, using the same standard (non-daylight-saving) offsets as the historical table above.

This schedule is not a confirmed, permanent policy. It reflects a claim from the bot's owner, Ghost, that the Hawaii-anchored timing is expected to hold for roughly the next three years — into approximately 2030 — but the owner has not treated this as a firm commitment, and it should be read as a stated expectation rather than a guarantee.
Gameplay Changes
While active, a word played in a live multiplayer game is accepted as a valid turn as long as it contains no spaces — dictionary membership is no longer checked at all. Turn order and the letter-chaining rule are otherwise unaffected, and a word containing a space is still rejected as normal.
!i / !info Changes
The word-inspection command becomes deliberately unreliable for any word that isn't actually in the dictionary (a genuinely valid word still displays normally):
- Validity is shown as "✅ Valid word (trust me bro)" regardless of the truth.
- Categories are replaced with between 1 and 25 items drawn at random from a fixed pool of joke categories — among them "AI Generated," "Words Some crackhead Invented," "Waffle House Approved," "Japanese Romanized somehow," "Jellyfish Legalese," "Quantum Machanics," "typoes," and roughly twenty other similarly absurd entries.
- Player counts are randomized rather than looked up: a "server" count between 1 and 100, and a "global" count randomly chosen to always be higher than the fake server count (up to 10,000).
- Several additional fields appear that only exist in this mode: whether you played the word ("Idk maybe?"), who last played it in the channel (always "Dave"), a fabricated source (drawn from a list including "Totally Real Dictionary (Trust Me)" and "404 Not Found Glossary," with a random reference number), a "Confidence" percentage that can run negative or over 100%, a count of "People who *swear* they played it," and a "Stats Impact" field that always reads "None (not in main dictionary)."
/check Changes
Every word is reported as playable. A genuinely valid word is still marked with ✅; a word that fails the real dictionary check is marked with a different checkmark (☑️) instead of the usual ❌, but the accompanying text reads "is playable!" either way — the differing emoji is the only visible tell.
End-of-Game Screen Changes
The game-summary embed's dictionary coverage line is replaced with a nonsensical value in the form 1/Ω (x%), where x is chosen at random from a fixed set of mathematically meaningless expressions: -e^π, -e^42, -∞, NaN, -1.#IND, -e^(iπ), and -√-1.
Notes
Fool's Mode is purely cosmetic and comedic; none of its output reflects real dictionary accuracy, player data, or statistics, and normal behavior resumes as soon as the operator toggles it back off.
